Stoney Meadow and Stone Mountain Looms owner Theresa Jewell and I are combining our powers to bring you a series of Continuous Strand Loom Pattern books for all of Stoney Meadow and Stone Mountain Looms!
It’s so very exciting and we are wondering why we didn’t think to talk to each other about this great opportunity before.
Theresa has been hard at work making beautiful items off of her continuous strand looms. In this past year, Theresa and her husband, Chuck, had the opportunity to buy the loom business! Now the looms are being produced right at their farm. With all her weaving knowledge, Theresa and Chuck are producing prototypes for new looms that could be available for sale soon enough. So keep your eye on this creative couple and all the wonderful things that are coming. And if you’re new and want to purchase a loom, head over to our store for prices.
To help all you lovely people produce wonderful projects on your Stoney Meadow and Stone Mountain Looms, we’ve decided pattern books are a must. There was only one problem… Theresa has a hard time writing things down into words. That’s where I come in!
I’ve been playing on Theresa’s looms for several years now, and since I’ve known her since I was 10, I understand how she thinks. That has given me the advantage of understanding what she wants to write down to help her patrons. With her weaving skills and knowledge and my ability to put it on paper, we are planning to bring you a series of books for each and every loom being produced at the farm.
In fact, after we discussed the possibilities I went home and outlined the first book! And it looks like it’s going to have between 10-16 different patterns in it for the 5ft triangle loom! Not only will it have patterns, but it will also give you step by step instructions with pictures on how to start weaving on your loom, how to switch color strands throughout the project, and how to finish and get your project off the loom with a few ideas for embellishments around the edge. 
We are aiming to have the Continuous Strand Loom Weaving on the 5ft Triangle Beginner’s Guide published early in the spring of 2018. But this is not the only pattern book we plan to publish in the coming year. This is where you come in. Which loom would you like to see a pattern book for next? Who knows, perhaps we will get more than 2 books written and published next year with your continued support.
